E. Cemal Gönen is a robotics enthusiast, hobbyist, and researcher. After he completed his undergraduate studies with a minor degree in mechatronics, he decided to turn his career way to artificial intelligence and robotics. Later, his one year of research experience in humanoid robots at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology made him curious about legged robots and bio-inspired systems. Then, he completed his master's thesis on motion planning of multi-legged free climbing robots at Sabanci University.
During his educational life, he took roles in various robotics projects to help the needs of humanity. Now, he is a Ph.D. student in Dynamic Locomotion Group, and he focuses on studying robotics legs.
