Hello!
My name is Jason Uranta and I'm pursuing my Bachelors of Science in Computer Science and Economics at Brown University. I work best within a collaborative team that builds upon each other's ideas and shares different thought processes, troubleshooting, and approaches in order to create more useful solutions that reflect different perspectives.
With a strong foundation in computer science, I am helping develop software in the field of computer vision to track and analyze the movements of the scarlet ibis to improve underwater tactile sensory understanding when tactile foraging occurs. By describing their behavior, we will understand how the mechanics of their beaks allows such precise tactile sensing in various diverse environments. We hope to able to scale up our reseach to other birds that use tactile foraging and expand this software to be used for the behavior analysis of various other animals.
Outside of formal academic pursuits I often spend time watching movies, going to be beach, discovering new spots to eat, and exploring whatever city I am in!
