The IMPRS-IS Ph.D. program is currently undergoing a prolongation process to apply for six more years of funding. This process involves an on-site visit from a team of external evaluators. During this visit, the evaluation committee will visit the two sites of MPI-IS. MPI-IS community members are welcome to join for the event’s scientific talks and poster sessions.
The creation of IMPRS-IS was made possible by a central grant from the Max Planck Society to MPI-IS for an initial duration of six years, as well as significant funding from the state of Baden-Württemberg for doctoral education at the University of Stuttgart and the University of Tübingen. With 264 current scholars, IMPRS-IS has far exceeded its initial vision of recruiting 100 Ph.D. scholars over the course of its initial six-year grant. IMPRS-IS is now one of the largest doctoral programs in the Max Planck Society. The program's initial grant will end after June 30, 2023. Therefore, efforts are currently being made to prolong the program. The IMPRS-IS coordination office, in collaboration with the program's executive board, faculty, and scholars, will host an on-site evaluation where external reviewers will evaluate the school. The IMPRS-IS executive board has approved the following schedule for our upcoming IMPRS-IS on-site evaluation taking place at MPI-IS in Stuttgart and Tübingen on Tuesday, June 28, and Wednesday, June 29, 2022. The times listed below are portions of the event which open to the entire MPI-IS community.
