Manuel Gomez-Rodriguez, Department Empirical Inference (Prof. Schölkopf), received an outstanding paper award at NIPS 2013 for the paper: "Scalable Influence Estimation in Continuous-Time Diffusion Networks" (with N. Du, L. Song and H. Zha, all Georgia Institute of Technology). See abstract at: http://papers.nips.cc/paper/4857-scalable-influence-estimation-in-continuous-time-diffusion-networks Together with two others on the same level this paper award is the highest price at the annual NIPS Conference. The Neural Information Processing Systems (NIPS) Foundation is a non-profit corporation whose purpose is to foster the exchange of research on neural information processing systems in their biological, technological, mathematical, and theoretical aspects. Neural information processing is a field which benefits from a combined view of biological, physical, mathematical, and computational sciences.
