I am currently a PhD student at the department of Empirical Inference supervised by Bernhard Schölkopf, Peer Fischer and Valentin Volchkov. My research areas are acoustic holography, inverse problems and deep learning.
I studied Physics in Göttingen with a focus on biophysics and complex systems. For my master thesis i worked with Martin Uecker on the reconstruction of undersampled magnetic resonance images with machine learning approaches.
Currently I am working on the topic of acoustic holography. The goal of this method is to generate 3d ultrasound fields with a single transducer with the help of a phase modulating plate. For 2d Fields at a certain distance from the transducer this problem is relatively easy to solve, but for 3d fields finding the phase plate becomes an ill posed inverse problem. At the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems I aim to develop mathematical methods and deep learning approaches that solve this problem.
