The Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems offers a variety of opportunities for students to engage in cutting-edge research and gain hands-on experience. We offer a number of internships and master thesis projects in our departments and research groups, allowing students to explore their interests and contribute to innovative projects. To learn more about the specific opportunities available, we encourage you to visit the individual department and research group pages for detailed information on current projects and openings. In addition, our institute offers two central programs: CaCTüS and RIGI, which provide students with unique opportunities for research and professional development. By participating in these programs, students can expand their knowledge, develop new skills, and become part of a vibrant research community.
CaCTüS is a joint Max Planck Campus Tübingen initiative. It was established to provide students facing financial and educational barriers with opportunities in research. The program offers three-month paid summer internships, which cover relocation and accommodation costs of the interns, while providing access to our advanced research facilities. Its goal is to increase diversity within our scientific community by giving internship opportunities to students from low- and middle-income countries, who are underrepresented in the Max Planck Society.
