Empirische Inferenz Alumni

I study Molecular Biotechnology at Heidelberg University and am currently doing a 3 month internship in the causal inference group. Here I got the the unique opportunity to learn about causal inference and the fundamentals of machine learning from many brilliant people while working with Jonas Peters to develop a test for the existence of a total causal effect in the framework of causal additive models. I believe that biological research can greatly benefit from causal inference methods using observational data - beyond simple randomized control experiments; especially in the Systems Biology approach (which itself is crucial). Yet I am very fascinated by Synthetic Biology and a lucky participant of the the iGEM competition.
