Tübingen – The Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems (MPI-IS) is part of a joint Max Planck Campus Tübingen initiative named CaCTüS, an abbreviation for Computation and Cognition Tübingen Summer Internship. The program aims to boost the careers of talented students in Artificial Intelligence & brain research who experience significant (often financial) difficulties in their pursuit of higher education.
By granting a three-month internship during the summer of 2022 together with free housing and monthly pay, CaCTüS supports especially students from underprivileged societies and countries. The program is designed to foster inclusion, diversity, equality, and access to world-class scientific facilities. It specifically encourages applications from bachelor or master students living in low- and middle-income countries which are currently underrepresented in the Max Planck Society research community. Partners of the CaCTüS initiative are the MPI-IS together with the neighboring MPI for Biological Cybernetics.
Successful applicants will work with top-level scientists on research projects spanning machine learning, electrical engineering, theoretical neuroscience, behavioral experiments, and data analysis. The application deadline is January 3, 2022.
